Man, I'm not sure whether to ask for good thoughts here or not, because it 
could be that it's "luckier" to just say nothing about this.  But
of course 
I always end up blabbing to someone.    An agent has asked for an 
exclusive on a manuscript I sent out, and now an assistant has e-mailed me 
to extend that exclusive and says he'll read faster , so that means 
(perhaps) they're possibly thinking about taking me on, or at least that 
work.  So . . . could those of you who are inclined think some positive 
thoughts?  In the words of the little old lady*, "it couldn't hurt."

*(She was pouring her chicken soup on the dead camel, or horse, or lawyer, 
depending on which version of the joke you heard.  "It couldn't help," 
protested someone. . . .)
