 Lip service rules. In a albeit fiction novel "Family Matters" by a
 native of Bombay, India now living in Toronto, Canada of contemporary
Bombay I was intrigued by what he says about customs becoming more
'multi-cultural'. I am assuming his fiction is based in reality since
it seems to be. The historical references inherent are accurate
anyway. He bases the story on real life in India. Anyway one of the
character's works at a sporting good's store. The owner who is Hindi,
gets the idea to celebrate ALL Religious holidays... the one focused
on is Xmas. They use a Santa display. I got a kick out of the fact the
customer's children were terrified of the display and the owner
dressed up as santa... of course until candy was offered.

The local activist group attacked this owner for falsifying a religion
by depicting a Commercial representation: Santa. I couldn't help but
agree though.

Yet so much has diluted the true meaning of religion.. it's selling
itself out to Big Business.

The real problem of religion are the Fundie rightwingers.

Ross send a URL of Terri Shaivo's CAT Scan. The only way to get PVS
across to a right winger is with pictures perhaps. But be sure they
don't compare her scan to their own for comparison to nomral.
The scans might look alike...
