EV>Howdy! Rob,

EV>As long as Arthur and his friend Burt Itis doesn't affect my fingers,
EV>I'll be banging away at the keyboard.

EV>No Way! am I going to try Dragon Naturally Speaking if I can't type
EV>because I was visiting at a home many years ago where the fellow
EV>"Trained" that software and then used it to make a Email to
send to me.

EV>It was real funny what got put into that message.

EV>The guy wasn't going to send it because it didn't look anything like
EV>what I heard him say in the microphone, but I told him to send it to me
EV>anyway after all of his troubles trying to make the message.

Back in the late 80's whan I was working i nhe engineering department of
the local VA facility the Anesteshology Research group were trying to
adapt speech recognition for logging madication administration.
It never worked out,
the probem is that ones speech had to be totaly consistant. Get a cold
and you had to re-train the program. Have a tremor in the voice, Forget
it.
Sure it works for simple game playing commanda but for real
transcription of dictation it is a different story.
