You sound pretty desperate. I'm not an expert in Qmodem, but it looks
like you have a problem with your initialization string. the ATZ^M tells
it to use the last string, in my USRobotics it's stored in the modem
itself. You might want to set up a new modem program something that has
an auto set up and has YOUR EXACT MODEM. Then when it sets up the string
you can go back to Qmodem and see if it works. I did it with my modem a
couple of times. If you've been playing with settings there should be
a command or a dip switch setting to restore the factory defaults.
Hmmm let's see, I'm trying to cover all the bases. Has the modem worked
for you before? The original modem that came with my computer wasn't set
up right from the place i bought it, i had an IRQ-COM conflict. The IRQ
was set for com 1 and the COM setting was for com 2. I could connect and
know it, but i was blind, what i typed went through but i couldn't get
 and echo back.
I'll look up the initialization string for you if you want, but you
should have it somewhere. I hope I could help a bit. :-)
The frustrating thing about a modem/telecommunications problem is that
you can't get on a bulletin board to ask for help
good luck
