As others have said, XP does not run autoexec.bat.

My BBS system runs on an older PC that sits under a desk with no monitor
or keyboard. I just logged in to it from this computer to check how my
things are set up. I use Argus, not IREX. Argus is started based on an
entry in the scheduled tasks item from the control panel. Instead of
being set to run at specific times, it is set to run at system startup,
and to run as my user / password (whether I am logged on or not). For
some reason, my winvnc server (which is what lets me do remote access)
is set to start up using the startup menu from the control panel. I
see that others have mentioned that menu to you for your Irex. It may
be that either will work -- experiment.
