Well, of course he was, but since the bird already knows it's a
bird, Bertie is a perfectly fine name. Could be "Robert" or
"Albert" or even "Roberta".

Why?

I think Molly is a person who cares more about animals than she
does humans. And I frequently agree with her perspective.
