I had a silly thing happen this afternoon. Had a bit of 10Base2 patch cable. 
It dropped into a machine, and the metal BNC plug just happened to short the 
pins on the floppy port of an IO card, which made a nasty smell and knocked 
out the PSU. :-( Luckily, only the IO card turned out to be broken...
