THC> Continuing my ongoing efforts to bankrupt Radio Shack
THC> by taking undue advantage of their return policy...
Oh, I thought that was the "Rental" policy
THC> Latest on the chopping block is the Pro-2035. This
THC> clear-out special boasts 1000 channels, sound squelch,
For $329.97 you just can't beat this deal...I was lucky and put one in
law-a-way about a week before it started to drop from the "sale" price of
$389...
THC> I've played with it an hour and I've already got
THC> complaints about it, of course. Auto store works as
The 2042 "fixes" the auto-store and only stores a new freq once.
THC> squelch almost makes up for the lack of search lockouts, but not quite.
THC> Locking out the 80 or so channels in a bank that you
THC> don't need takes forever. One of the scanners I

Maybe, but at least you've got 80 channels in that bank left to lockout
and later open up for new freqs. Most of the other scanners just have 80
channels left in the whole radio... :)
THC> Rotary tuner is actually more useful than I would have thought.
That is a wonderful addition...I use mine alot...
THC> So far, I've mainly spent my time entering frequencies
THC> (manually and with auto store), moving channels
THC> around, and listening to CB. Anybody who's had one of
THC> these for a while know any nice features that I'm probably
erlooking?
Don't forget that they can be computer controlled...
As far as the auto-store, and some of the other features you mentioned go,
just remember that even as wonderful as the 2004/5/6 are they didn't have
those features...like I said, for the diso price of $329.97 it is a good
eal,
you can get the 2042 that "fixes" some of the (I hate to say glitches, but..)
the 2042 is going to cost you $499.99...I don't know about you, but I can
live with quite abit for $170 difference in price :)
