Dick, I very much like your rewrite of "Twa Corbies."  
I had fun once rewriting the original story to the tune
of "Two Brothers" (the Civil War song about the two
brothers:  "one wore blue and one wore gray") but never
bothered publishing it because not enough people seemed to
know the original "Twa Corbies."

Of course, you could always have the lady love drag
the knight's body off to the Witch of the Westmoreland
who turns out to be bi -- for a truly happy and anchronistic
ending.
