I not argueing about that. The same here in New Zealand, there seems
to be very average and absolute garbage computer speakers.
        My suggestion to "whoever it was I was chatting to" that,
rather than spend dollars on half decent computer speakers, another
option would be to obtain a reasonable "gheto blaster" and use it as
both a radio/tape player as well as an amp/speaker for the computer.
One could also record sound files as well, as a side.
        I did mention to him about the need to place any regular
speaker at least 50cM or more from the monitor.
