Great topic Col, passionate responses. Let me start my own by saying that no movie on any screen will ever be able to do full justice to the four book "trilogy" as every reader who has enjoyed the books have seen it uniquely with their own mind's eye. That said, I think the movie is beyond excellent. The parallels to the books are amazingly true, as movies go, though purists will cite some minor differences as expected. The CGI and direction are excellent and the movie produces a powerful hold, as the books do, to bind the viewer to the story. Several movie-goers at the theater I visited said they had not seen part 1 of the movie nor read the books but they intended to stop on the way home and purchase both, the movie so enthralled them. The experience is well worth the cost. Go see this movie. (use the facilities before the show- every minute of the nearly 3 hour runtime is worth seeing) DT ----- Original Message ----- From: "col sanders" > > So, has anyone seen it yet?
