GB> Ok, this might a be a dumb question, but what would GB> preclude you from working GB> on Maximus on your own time? I don't care to get in a copyright issue..... Some large corporations have some rather interesting intelletual property (IP) rights agreements that they force on folks when working..... Most folks don't even read what they sign.... If they did, I wouldn't have the "fun" I have when trying to negotiate employment contracts...... I actually got up two levels of corporate lawyers the last time before getting shot down. I think I'm better prepared for the next round to write execptions to the global statements that most of them want.... This is where the free software movement rubs against corporations. Since the corporations are now using the software covered under various free licenses (such as GNU GPL) in a lot of internal engineering areas, I think I have a better chance to get some where.... On the other hand, it can cause a conflict in providing further developent on the same software that is used.... This gets into things as basic as the GNU C / C++ / Objective C compiler, and goes on from there.... There would be a hassle of needing to have simple things go past corporate lawyers for approval to keep the free source code IP rights clean before incorporating the changes..... While there should be no hang up with such corporate approval, they have no motiviation to do the work needed to allow such activity..... One needs to hit them up front prior to employment. I struck out in some areas last time..... [I went to broad.] I should have another round within the next few months.... Take care.....
