Platoon took every negative experience from the war and made it look like that
was the way it was every day. It was a typical political statement.
My father, a combat photographer in Vietnam, said the only movie scene that has
ever given him close to a flashback was the Vietnam combat scene in Forrest
Gump. Platoon didn't phase him at all.
