Hi Marianne!
I've got your Internet E-mail message sitting on my
other computer, and as soon as I can get caught up....
MR>How is everything going with buying your new place.
It's still scheduled for a July/August move-in.
MR>... we are going to work on saving for a vacation to
MR>Florida and I would love to see the Duane. What else
MR>would be good sites to see that you would recommend?
The coral reefs in the Keys are pretty spectacular if
you've never done much Caribbean-style diving. There
are several notable wrecks in the Keys, but most people
come here because of the reef dives.
MR>I heard in Truk lagoon in the past some divers have
MR>wondered into the submarines and other wrecks and
MR>gotten lost which was the ultimate reason why they died.
It happens more often than you'd realize. :(
MR>Shouldn't people who want to see the inside of
MR>wrecks be going through almost a technical diving program???
It would be a good idea to at least have some training
in wreck penetration diving, and "silt-out" conditions.
MR>Like a mixed gas technical dive??
Not necessarily, unless the wrecks were especially deep. The
wreck penetration training and silt-out training would be much
more valuable. Wreck diving is another form of "overhead
environment" diving -- just like cavern & cave diving.
--- Divers do it deeper!
