Yes. Israel's goal is to destroy Hezbollah's ability to attack
Israel ... to prevent HB from fulfilling its ambition of destroying
Israel and establishing Islamic rule over Jerusalem ("Al Quds").

I doubt that Israel is specifically attacking innocent civilians;
Israel is, AFAIK, warning civilians to leave from target areas
prior to attacking them. Civilians are certainly being killed.
HB in turn is attacking Haifa and other places.

Interesting development; Israel appears to be welcoming NATO troops
in Southern Lebanon to "ensure" the peace & to keep HB in check; HB
may simply target NATO as an occupying force instead of Israel. The
temptation for Iran & Syria (with Russian help?) to take on NATO may
be irresistible (speculation on my part).

Generally speaking, the Church (Christians) should have been caught up
by the time the Third Temple is built, and the false religious systems
which remain will give their allegiance to the false messiah sitting
in the Temple.

I accept that much of the original post is "spin", but Israel is a unique
nation that exists in fulfilment of God's will and purpose, while Satan
seeks to destroy it. It has returned to part of its covenant land in
unbelief, and will continue in unbelief until it comes to see that Jesus
Christ is the Messiah, not a clever fake who seeks to destroy them (and
others) through a "peace" program. Personally, I find it very sad that
Muslims seek a global Caliphate under Sharia Law in the mistaken belief
that this is God's will for them, and equally sad that Jews, Noahides,
Reconstructionists / Dominionists / New Agers etc are seeking to bring 
about the Kingdom of God through their efforts at planetary transformation
and enforcement of "God's Laws", "Universal Laws",
"Noahide Laws" etc etc.

It is all doomed to fail.
