| subject: | Problems with QModem Pro |
SD> I have a user that uses QModem Pro to connect to my SD> board (Maximus/2 3.01, OS/2 Warp 4.52 MCP2) and he SD> reported he was having problems. So, I went and bought SD> QModem Pro and Procomm Plus (still in shrinkwrap SD> packages!) off of eBay. They're getting here next week, SD> but I found a copy on the Web and installed it on my SD> other machine (W2K). Wow. Somebody who actually pays for software (!). SD> True to his word, there were problems. It was the ANSI SD> setup that was bad-there was nothing wrong with the SD> board itself. It sometimes would clear the screen, but SD> most of the time it wasn't. Has anyone else reported What about using ANSI-BBS emulation on the client ? I use Telix. SD> problems with their Max install and QModem Pro? I know SD> mTel has problems with its ANSI and ZModem code and for SD> some reason, mTel now crashes my board when someone uploads something. I've had problems uploading files to Bob Jone's Tophat BBS where mTel would crash and/or disconnect and/or hang the Zmodem transfer after 100% progress; but the BBS never crashed. My guess is some problem with Vmodem ... but we never verified that theory (or investigated further). Do your local OS/2 mTel transfers work ? SD> FWIW, I've never had this problem before with Maximus/2. What about under Maximus/DOS ? --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Top Hat 2 BBS (1:343/41) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 343/41 138/146 392 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
