1. New Rule

[Carbon Copying - Aka The Bob Klahn Part Two Ruling]

Posting a identical message to multiple recipients in the open echo is
forbidden. This wastes bandwidth and confuses message threads. If the
need arises, post a message to 'All' and reference the individuals in
the message body.

Conversely use back channel communications such as email or netmail or
perhaps another echo.

2. Deletion

The IKYABWAI portion of the rule file has been deleted, if someone wishes
to employ this childish debating tactic, let him or her face the scorn of
the echo participants, it is their own credibility they wish to trash.

3. Clarification

The [Message Quoting] portion of the rule file has been clarified to read:

*DO NOT* edit any quoted text to change the meaning or context..

4. Change

The [Flames] portion of the rule file has been renamed to [Provocations].

and the following added:

The usage of racial slurs are at your own peril as it relates to
credibility and the like.

How many of you forgot about this part:

Messages that only convey a personal slam are off topic, but will be
dealt with on a case by case basis.

5. Change

The [I dont initiate, I retaliate] ruling has been ammended with the
following changes:

NFL analogy deleted.

The remainder of rule now reads:

If you are spending time retaliating against what you perceive as attacks,
do not expect moderator protection, sometimes a reprisal often exceeds
the level of the offense? When one wrestles with pigs, by the time its
over, all are so muddy that you cant tell the pigs apart.

6. Change

The [Names] aka the "Otto" ruling has been changed with this addition:

Referring to someone with a name they object to in the third person
context is out of bounds.

7. Reminder

You all are reminded of this section of the rules, no changes:

[Moderator rulings and warnings] - The Moderators are GOD ruling

Leave the moderating of this echo to the moderators.

Moderator rulings or warnings are not up for discussion or rebuttal in
the open echo, if you disagree with them, then use the private back
channels outlined at the bottom of this ruleset.

The Moderators reserve the right to determine the rules for this echo,
when a rule has been broken, whether or not to enforce a rule, when in
doubt, leave the moderating of the echo to the moderators.

8. New Rule

[Accusations And Open Doors]

Accusing someone of having done something or not having done something
without /PROOF/ is forbidden.

What can modify the above is if one has openned the proverbial door to
whatever topic said accusation/allegation pertains to, each echo
participant is responsible for his or her own doors.

Perhaps if you cant prove what you say, then dont say it?
