There is always more than one way to "skin a cat". There are several door
server "services" 
around that have tons of registered doors, and you use an EXE file to connect
the them. 
BBSlink is one of them. Times change, technology changes, its all part of life.
I don't think 
anyone left anyone behind per se. Just my opinion...
