This is apparently something that was fixed fairly recently.  MSGED always
used to behave as above for any message addressing, so that messages for
Alan Smith would be addressed to Al Smith.  I was so familiar with this
behavior that I have a series of aliases defined to work around it.

I just tried to duplicate it, however, and MSGED now looks for an exact
match; I can correctly address messages to Al, Alan, and Alwyn Smith.  BUT!
if I try to address a message to Bill Becker at 1:320/209, it will pull up
1:141/223 which is the address of B Becker.
