JE> Every once in a while when I try to boot up I get the following
 JE> message:
 JE> NTLDR is missing
JE> Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart.

JE> Doing this causes NOTHING to happen.

JE> If I press RESET on the case, the system usually reboots correctly.

Every once in a while on power up, my comp gives eight beeps and
jes' sets thur with nothing on the screen.

According to a file I downloaded some time ago, eight short beeps
means a fault in the video card.

Pressing RESET does nothing. The only solution is to power down,
wait a second or two and power up again. That usually works, but
on one occasion I had to try five times.

This fault has occurred with two different m'boards and two
different video cards over a period of about four years.

About the only thing I haven't changed is the p/s and case.

I have learned to live with it.
