IRAN: STREET NAMED AFTER HEZBOLLAH LEADER

Tehran, 10 August (AKI) - Rasht, the main city of Iran's northern
Ghilan region, will dedicate one of its streets to Hassan Nasrallah,
the leader of militant Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, which is at
war with Israel. "This decision means to be a good omen for victory,"
for the Hezbollah guerrillas, the president of the city council,
Mohammad Aghelmanesh, told the Tehran-based Fars news agency. "We hope
that with the support of all Iranians and the Islamic community,
Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah and his courageous Hezbollah soldiers will
succeed in destroying Israel and free the Middle East from this
plague."

Rasht is the first Iranian city to name a street after Nasrallah. Iran
has been widely accused of arming Hezbollah along with Syria.
