That's true. But do we know that the interference is getting into
the antenna?

I would be more suspicious of the wires from the processor
section to the electronic tuning in the tuner. They connect more
or less directly to the input of the lowest level stages in the
set, and it would only need a few millivolts of hash on them to
swamp the low level reception of the tuner.

And any hash on those wires would be so low by the time it got
back to the antenna connector that it would be waaaaay below the
FCC specs.
