It's not a matter of what it costs... you can be darn sure that
the service they are offering the people with pulse dial phones
is making a profit. But if they can make more profit by having
the surcharge for tone dial, you can be sure they wouldn't want
to give it up.

The #1 business of business these days is paying dividends to
their investors.

The #2 business is paying ever bigger salaries and bonuses to
their CEOs and directors, or maybe this is really #1.

Their #3 business is milking the public for enough money to cover
#1 and #2.

Service to the customer is WAAAAY down the list.
