We are not Israel, either.  Again, we are supposed to be the example to

I haven't seen anyone saying we shouldn't grab or kill Bin Laden, or
anyone who attacks us.  That's not the same as torture (and I'm sure
Israel does torture, which again doesn't make it right for us.)

Israel does things that warrant criticism.

Some criticism of Israel is based on anti-Semitism.  That doesn't mean
all criticism of Israel is.  You're correct - it's often used as a club.

The Sunnis hate the Shiites, and vice versa.  They all hate the
Palestinians, save as propaganda weapons (why else would they force them
to live in refugee camps?)  And the Islamists of both sects hate
everyone who isn't like them - Christians don't fare well in many Middle
East Muslim countries.)  Israel's existence, and the territories, is
only one part of the problem.

It wasn't Israel who invaded Arab countries in 1948, and thereafter.  It
wasn't Israel who controlled the West Bank and Gaza from 1948-1967, yet
terrorists attacked Israel, anyway.  It isn't Israeli schools that
teach that Arabs should be eliminated.

The U.S. didn't mind when Israel destroyed Iraq's reactor.  If Israel
could take care of Iran's nuclear program, the U.S. would be happy (we'd
publicly condemn Israel, of course.)
