subject: Win4LinHome ????

Anyone had any experiece with the Win4LinHome by Dan Perlman
that purports to enable Linspire 4.5 and 5.0 (as well as SuSE)
to run programs writen for Win9x.

I recently bought a PowerSpec 1405 with Linspire 4.5 I would
like to be able to use the Win9x genealogy programs such as
Legacy and Family History that I have used for many years so
that I have considerable data bases invested therein.

When I asked somewhile ago if the Win9x GEDCOM files would be
recognized and used to input its data in linux genealogy programs,
GRAMPS and Genealogy Manager; I got zero responses so I gather
the GEDCOM file method of shareing data among Win9x is not possible
with linux genealogy programs such as GRAMPS and Genealogy Manager
so this Win4Lin looks interesting if it works as claimed.

Ciao, Ack.
