This thread caught my attention...
I don't know about the rest of the world, but I feel that killing by a
maximum number of messages is not a very good idea:
(a) If you get a big load of mail one day for some reason, you'll
lose messages.
(b) Some callers may only call in once a week - therefore, in
medium-high traffic areas, they may miss some messages.
This is why the "kill by date" is best. For Fido areas, 7 days/1 wk seems
sufficient, and it keeps this area at between 30 and 60 messages (roughly).
However, you just have to remember to run SQPACK nightly/daily to remove the
old messages.
In higher volume areas, a setting of 3-5 days is better. In real low traffic
areas, a 3 week grace period is almost always sufficient.
Just my thoughts on the subject...
