The GM> 4046 only goes to 0.7MHz typically. It can be pushed to 2 or 3Mz if the heat is taken away from the package. I tested it running that high but it uses a lot more current and thus the extra heat. We're just not used to putting a heatsink on a 4000 series chip but intel does it on their cpu's... BTW I do remember heatsinking my overclocked 8088's and then my V20's. Nothing new there, eh? Mike **** ... Resistance Is Futile!
