In a DOS box under OS/2w4, an HPFS drive appears as a 'normal FAT'
drive, there's no real distinction as far as DOS and it's applications are
concerned (although an HPFS drive is much faster than a FAT drive). Now EA's
are only represented by a hidden file or two, with an illegal (as far as DOS
is concerned) filename. Long filenames, whether for directories or files are
totally invisible to DOS, although DOS will report the fact that any
drivespace taken up by them is not available.
