-> Broadcasters were a lot more civil in those days, too. Yes. Just one more reason I am not a gazillionaire. -> -> BK> Give me a list of the liberal broadcasters you can think of... They are few and far between. Which was the case in the 50's when I first started paying attention. -> BK> to the public, and the public has the right to hear all points of -> BK> view, not just the corporate approved point of view. The public wants scandal, and pubic hair. Salvation lies in diversity. -> BK> might. The government runs the internet, whether you realize it -> BK> or not. -> -> Most folks are blissfully unaware of that last factoid. China seems from what I hear to really control theirs.(Including twitter - evidently the lastest Thing. :-) Sooo...I guess all governments control theirs...Denmark, according to a poster here who is from there, sez they are up in arms (Figuratively -- they ARE Demmarkians :-) -- over government control and the lack thereby of privacy...AND a small band of protesters have grown to a major political party. I just recall: it's the Piracy Party. They've been so successful, they are starting groups in several other countries. Maybe here, I confess I am only dimly aware of all this... Damn. Security software that allows the -> government to (a) control what that computer may access and (b) monitor -> what that computer - and its user - is doing. Wow! As well as yinke! Coming soon to the USA. Thar's what the Pirate org. is fighting. -> -> Note that the USA is now considered one of the worst nations on the planet WRT -> electronic freedom, following only mainland China, North Korea and one or two -> other such governments. I'm staying tuned. :-) -> -> --- FleetStreet 1.19+ Boneyard or Honeyard? :-) Regards... --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5-> * Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) * Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
