I don't think that's a good way to set squish bases...
If you only worry about how many messages there are, then you'll have to get
a feel for each and every message base on the machine in question to figure
out what reasonable values would be for them. 250 is _not_ a lot and I have
a number of busy echos here that exceed that greatly.
The main problem with it is that if you set a squish base according to how
many messages to keep, it slows down tossing, as it needs to delete as it's
going along.
I far prefer to set a number (real high, though, so you won't likely reach
it -- like 2500 or whatever) for a maximum limit, and then set the base to
keep a specified number of days. This allows the mail to get tossed quicker
and you need to run sqpack every so often, but I like that approach better.
