KJ>In bird breeding, reputation is everything, since breeders are scatter

And I wish more people WOULD check out breeder reputations before
buying. Some of the scum who sell sick birds, etc., would be forced to
go out of business, or else clean up their acts if more folks checked
around and followed up on references before buying birds.

Burst blood vessel? What caused that, do they know?
I understand about offering the replacement; I have a 'tiel promised to
a local girl whose bird died in a freak accident last year. Their TV
malfunctioned in the middle of the night, and turned itself on, at full
volume. The tiel broke his neck in a sudden thrash attack from being
startled in the dark. The bird was this young couple's "child"; she was
devastated. I felt so badly for her, she gets pick of the next clutch I
have (which *should* be fairly soon--two pairs are on eggs now). I
certainly didn't HAVE to do this either; I wanted to.
