Hi Carol...I went a different path from the one you mentioned. I tossed all 
the plants out, except a few small ones that didn't have algae on them. They 
seem to be doing alright so far...they are growing still. I guess I'll find 
out for sure in a month. As long as the Cichlids don't chew on the little 
guys! hehehe
