Did you use the CVS to get all of the latest updates? read the 00README.2ND
file as starting multiple ports isn't the same way it was. It shows how to
start maximus using a script that allows multiple telnet sessions. YOu also
will need to use the latest CVS updates as the stock Maxius from
sourceforge isn't up to date (Why they don't repackage the latest stable
CVS package as a new maximus for Linus download is beyond me).
