IS> Ian G'day Ian, I wonder if you aquired this board from Chris Goh? If so it is a working board as I had all the boards he had to check them out. I don't have a book on them but am running one in my computer. I bought a stuffed 486 board with no cpu to get the cache for mine. The extra socket is for a cahce ram parity chip. They are really easy to setup, and mine has been working fine since I installed it. The board will run at 60mhz landmark with cache ram( even 64k) and at a lowly 27mhz with no cache.ie, better find some cache if you want it to perform! My old sx25 was faster than the dx40 without cache. If I can be of more help let me know, and if I wasn't any help, wellll?? Doug. ...
