 You damned liberl!

 You just gave the best arguement against the sales tax a liberal
 can give, and gave it vehemently.

 However, it's obvious you didn't think it through.

 The taxes are already being paid on whatever you buy. Payroll
 taxes just go on the price of the product. If it's shifted from
 a payroll tax to a sales tax, and kept revenue neutral, you wind
 up paying the same taxes either way.

 However, if the tax is shifted to a sales tax it can be applied
 to everything that is sold, but at a lower rate. The result
 would be reduced prices for American products, making them more
 compteitive and thus increasing the number of American jobs.

 The best way to help the poor is not to make it easier for them
 to live poor, but to help them stop being poor.
