subject: SUPRA LC GONE BONKERS

AA>Anyone here using a Supra LC 14.4 on their BBS system? I was
AA>struggling to figure out why my OS/2, FrontDoor setup was having
AA>problems RECEIVING data on 14.4k connections. After much tweaking
AA>of FrontDoor configuration, modem configuration, and an SIO (for OS2)
AA>update, the same problem persisted. The maximum RECEIVE speed I
AA>could get was 9600bps! TRANSFERs from my system were OK at 14.4k!
AA>...only RECEIVING would fail miserably, and often the connection
AA>would just quit.
AA>I decided to dust off a cheapo QuickTel 14.4k that I reserved for
AA>emergencies or as a spare. Lo and behold... the QuickTel works
AA>flawlessly and 14.4k LD connections to Ottawa, Peterboro and Montreal
AA>are solid and stable.
AA>I believe that the Supra LC is still well within the 5yr warranty.
AA>So.. I hope to get a replacement.
AA>BUT.. has anyone else experienced similar problems with their Supra
AA>LC model?
I have not seen things like that except on fried modems.
It sounds like the incoming DSP channel is weak or damaged.
