Hi Dottie!
-=> Quoting Dottie Theriault to Laverne Reynolds <=-
DT> My late Nana made us clown dolls from yo-yos. She strung them
DT> together through the center making the body, arms and legs and then
DT> used a plastic doll face for the head. Really cute and my brother and
DT> I played with our till they were worn out. Sure wish I had been more
DT> careful then and been able to keep it and enjoy it today. That was
DT> some 40+ years ago.....
DT> Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
My SIL said she and Tom's mother used to sit together and craft
things for church bazaars, and one thing they made a lot of was
"Yo-Yo the Clown." She said they would set up the folding table
and sit outdoors in nice weather or in the living room in not-so-
nice weather, and just make yo-yo clowns.
Mom's gone now and Pat misses crafting with her. I wish I'd
have met her, she died before I met Tom. They had a lot of good
crafting times together.
Pat has some quilts her mom made, several she herself helped
with. Lots of church ladies got together to quilt them.
I think maybe I should've been born a hundred years earlier than
I was. These things sound so neat to me!
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
... We now return to our regularly scheduled crafting! :-D YES!!!
