subject: Speakers for computer..

GR>Hmm, yes, remember "BIG" is not always best though. ;-)
What I found out was that there were five speakers that equaled
500 watts and they sounded nice with a subwoofer... maybe it's that
everything sounds nice with a subwoofer I don't know. :)
GR>True, that is why I sugested a reasonable quality mini stereo, or even
GR>a half reasonable gheto-blaster. You will only need to have, as an
GR>extra, a line input and a two-three metre sheilded cable. (Ask your
GR>local hifi store) Remember, you can always disconnect from the
GR>computer and listen to you favorite radio station while lying by the
GR>pool! ;-) (added bonus you see)
True, but I have plenty of stereo speakers in that proximity...
maybe I should just swipe some of those.. hmm.. :)
GR>As long as the speakers are at least 60cM away (Oops a couple of feet)
GR>from the screen there should be no problems as far as magnetic fields
GR>affecting the screen is concerned.
Hmm... seems I will have to move some furniture to do that.
GR>AP> Fourth, they're big and sound horrible up close.
GR>Assuming you're talking 180 watts RMS, and wanna terrify the
GR>neighbours...... |-)
GR>Iguess what I'm trying to say, is that most "sound cards" can be
GR>connected to almost any stereo system.
Of course, but the issue here is what stereo to attach to the
sound card. :)
