Sondra,
Mike's Mom got out there and due to insurance paperwork, they postponed
the surgery until this Friday. I kinda' glad for her though, as she has been
able to get in touch with friends of hers that she hasn't seen in a long
while. That will help a lot in her recovery and redeveloping her support
system for when she's recovering.
I worked all day Sat and then drove straight to Mike's and took fixin's
for dinner. Walked in the door and started cooking afetr getting hugs and
kisses. Then about the time dinner was ready, a recently divorced gentleman
that lives down the road came by, and I told him to get another chair if he
wanted to eat. He sat in on supper, dishes were washed, kids put to bed, and
read to, and I layed down on the couch for a little TV. Next thing I knew, I
was OUT !! I woke up, and then woke up Mike and we both headed for bed. The
kids wanted me to sleep with them, so we booted Mike out of his bed. The
kids were like little heaters. As the house cooled down from the wood
burning down in the wood stoves, they scrunched closer and closer to me. The
three yr old woke first and ran downstairs to get his Barney hat. Then came
back up and layed there for about two seconds and said, "I gotta' pee", and
headed back down the stairs. The 4 yr old awoke next and said, "the pasture
is covered with snow". By that time the 3 yr old was back in bed, and
anouncing that he didn't wanna' take a nap anymore. I explained that it
wasn't nap time, that it was just time to wake up and get all the sleepy dirt
from our eyes before heading down the stairs for breakfast.....that worked
for all of about 5 minuets before he decided that he was STARVING .
I surely do enjoy going up there, but I miss Mike's Mom a lot. We usually
talk on the phone several times a week....guess I'll have to call her before
surgery just to let her know that I'm thinking about her.
Patti
