RH> Hi Carol,
CS> Thought about that but the main issue for me is complexity of the
CS> country easier, and yet able to so a simple straight seam. The more
CS> complex tha machine is, the less likely I am to ever use it.
CS> Grin, for 100$ I can get a very good used model that will sit in the
CS> closet, or for 50$ I can get a simple one that I will use. Choice
RH> Well, you know your requirements better than I do. I'm a bit
RH> skeptical as to how good those little machines really are; that's why
Good enough for a mere straight seam which is what I need now and will use it
for. I may well never progress beyond this level, but if I do, I will
consider the used machine as you suggest.
CS> Oh I have more, but I get the ship all the computers and computer
CS> books as 'professional gear'. I'm a DP . I didnt count those
RH> What is a DP? I know it used to mean "displaced person" but I doubt
RH> that's your meaning. (G) As of now I don't think we can count any of
RH> our computer stuff asprofessional gear--even though Steve has some
Data Processing Technician. Horrible name for the field and getting worse
shortly as we combine with the RM (Radioman) rate and become RM's! (Gives me
visions of Radar O'Rielly on MASH winding up the box to talk. Not accurate
for the rate, but name needs to be updated dramatically!).
I have no limit I know of on computer books, or gear. Least ways I havent
been charged yet! I ship 3 computers, and 4 boxes of books that way, plus a
box of spare computer parts. Normally the movers at the house arent too
computer literate on packing such, so I teach them. Nothing broken yet!
 CS> library. I have 7 bookshelves 6ft tall, 4 bookshelves smaller, all
 CS> filled.
RH> You've got us beat! We have 3 six foot tall shelves, 2 are 3 feet
RH> wide; the other is 4 feet wide. We also have 3 5 foot tall by 2 1/2
RH> feet wide shelves and a few small ones here & there. Yes, ours are
RH> all full too; some of my paperbacks are shelved double deep. We have
Mine too on the paperbacks! Last time I filtered it out and donated some, I
donated 4 *full* grocery bags worth of mixed hardback and paperback books.
RH> Right now I'm taking a break from a "bear" project; replacing the
RH> zippers in my BIL's backpack. I've got the new zippers in but have
RH> to sew down where I unstitched some to get the old out & new in.
RH> Because of the way the pack is constructed, it looks like I'll be
RH> doing some of it by hand. I'll finish it this week end & get it in
Easier done by hand I suspect. Have fun! .
