I personally DO NOT LIKE them AT ALL.
I'm kind of partial to Chapparral and Houston Tracker. Drakes are
good too...there's a saying that goes .."Drakes don't break".
Bottom line though is what you can spend/afford. If there's a deal
you can't pass up (like for free if it's a Uniden) well then that's
     another story.
If you're buying used equipment try to see it in operation first.
     In particular...
Move the dish from one end of the arc to the other.
                Does it travel smoothly?
Does it go and come back accurately?
Does the Acutator arm sound like it's OK ?
Look at odd and even channels on a couple of satellites.
                Are the picture clear?
Are the pictures correct in color and sync ?
If the VC2 Plus decoder is authorized does it decode?
Is the sound clear (VC2 Plus and regular audio) ?
Is there delay in changing from odd to even channels?
Does the equipment appear to be in good physical shape?
These are just a few things to consider.
Also if the dish is a large one you'll have to transport it and
no physical stress should be exerted on the dish (i.e. don't TIE
it DOWN). I wouldn't reccommend disassembling it unless you have
the original DISH assembly instructions, and even then I wouldn't
take it apart. Basically sliding the dish UP off of the mounting
pole means little worries except for transportation.
If you have any other questions just ask...
                                           Dave
