DH> Well, a very respectable and internationally known MD of Chinese
DH>origin has taken up the position of chairman for International Child
DH>Health and Alternative Medicine, based in our Children's Hospital. His
DH>vision entails making the centre the resource and information centre for
DH>all alternative medicines in N. America, perhaps in the world. Clinical
DH>testing shall be done on adults and children, with the results
DH>published. Eventually, it will be part of Medical, Pharmaceutical, and
DH>Nursing studies, and a degreed course at university level.
Sounds exciting.....
DH> The proposed projects to start are: Acupuncture in pain control,
DH>diabetic control using herbal medicine, and maybe one more using a
DH>non-drug technique. And this is at the time one of the HIV +ve group
DH>care program is getting ready to do a relaxation/acupuncture program for
DH>patients in their care.
Is any of this related to PPS?????
DH> At the same time, the fund-raising foundation I am forming will try
DH>to round up $50,000 to poll provincial drug and poison information
DH>centres regarding the number of case of toxicity or suspected toxicity
DH>relating to herbal medicines in the last 5 years. If the results come
DH>out negligible after being weighted to the number of people using herbal
DH>treatments, we can then tell our federal Health Ministry to keep their
DH>mitts off regulating herbals.
Would they include the people that eat dirt??? I'm not sure just where
the custom came from...I have read some things about it, but at the
moment am drawing a blur. I have often wondered about the bad properties
that we have in our soil now, as to growing herbs as well as the soil
itself retaining harmful things to humans....
DH> As you can see, I am running so fast my feet are just a blur!
If I can help, let me know...I'm very interested. Please keep me up to
date on what phase you are in.....TTYL.
