Oops, I tried it again and it looks like I had tried to load using
apostrophes (') rather than quotes (").

Sorry for the delay on response; been snowed under and there is
really no relief in sight. I briefly checked the ZV and ZE lisps,
but really only got a nil returned. I will look at the code when I
have the opportunity. I do have a good book on AutoLisp, and will
get back to studying it when I can. Not only do I want routines for
zoom_view and zoom_draw, but I also want to see if I can make some
decent line trimming routines to trim a line to a length, trim an
incremental amount, or trim to an unbounded intersection. I wonder
how ACAD could have missed these functions also. Thanks for the
code, and encouragement...
