I like the idea of copyright holders being required to pony up a buck to
keep the copyright going.  How painless can it be?  Terrific.  I'd be happy
to pony up a buck to keep rights to BOOKING HAWAII FIVE-0, and yet also
very happy to eventually have it go into the public domain for what it
would be worth to scholars of media or popular culture.
