Some people are allergic to pot though reactions are generally mild.

VERY often pot of poor quality is spiked with some rather nasty drugs
like PCP which can cause psychotic behavior right on up to homocidal
acts.                                                         
This stuff has a very distictive chemical odor and taste and I never
completed a puff on a joint so treated but passed on it immediately
sharing my concern.

The government sprays, or formerly sprayed, "Paraquot" on pot
leaving it to nbe harvested and sold.
Paraquot is a TOXIC in humans herbicide.

Then too some people simply have panic attacks due to the media
hysteria and misinformation about marijuana, I've seen this a few
times.
Some people just freak themselves out with their expectations. 


-> It's common knowledge isn't it how some folks don't need a mood/perception
-> altering drug to help them manifest the effects, or especially the extremes
-> of such a drug's effect. We call the extremes 'mental illness'.

PET scans can and do reveal mental patterns in the mentally
ill that sometimes mimic those of hard drug users.
