WH> Hello All!
WH> Just been playing around with a free X server for 95/NT (MiX, available
from
  > www.microimages.com) using client applications on my Linux box. Surprised
at

WH> I'm just wondering if anyone's done X over a slow link (i.e over
PPP/modem) and
  > how badly it performs!
Since you're literally moving entire screens (pixels) of
information, it does tend to be slow. The new Broadway initiative
is supposed to have addressed this with a compression protocol,
but AFIK it hasn't been widely implemented yet. I believe that
only NetManage has come out with a product that incorporates
Broadway, and I *definetly* don't recommend their offering.
