PH>> That I can. It's been a busy few weeks with work, family etc. I'm
PH>> currently training to climb a mountain with my son next February and
PH>> that's taking up a few of the remaining spare hours also.
NB>> I can see where that would... ;) One would indeed want to be in shape
NB>> for such an undertaking.. :) How old is your son...? And how
NB>> high/rugged the mountain...?
PH> He's nearly 15 and if you Google Mt Taranaki / Mt Egmont you will see
PH> all the info. I think it's about 2800 meters at a guess :)
Was it his idea...? Sounds like a great bonding experience... :)
NB>> If I'm figuring it right, November should be essentially late spring for
NB>> you... Dec 21 or so being the summer solstice... Our winter doesn't
NB>> usually settle in until January, either... :)
PH> Yes, I think officially Summer starts Dec 1 but as you say it all
PH> seems to be a movable target now. I see quite a few trees almost ready
PH> to burst into bloom, but not quite.
Spring is working on it... Around here there are a few trees
starting to color, but not much falling yet... But the equinox isn't
until later this month anyway... :)
NB>> Daffodils is spelled properly... ;) Bulbs and flowering trees should
NB>> make it feel spring-like even if the snow and temps are slow to
NB>> cooperate... :) Do you have forsythias there...?
PH> Yes but my wife is not a fan of them so it was a quick Google to
PH> answer that question!
The forsythia is probably about my favorite flowering bush... Used to
have one right next door which brightened up early spring gloom right
nicely once it bloomed... just a burst of sunshine... :) Neighbor died,
house was sold, and new owner took out all the shrubbery, most of the
trees, and pulled out the poor forsythia by its roots... At least the
bulbs were still there, so there was a little bit of spring next door
still this year...
