:) Then it doesn't qualify as a Quebec variant. In spite of whatever will
eventually happen in Canada, Quebec's "plans" are to BE out. :)
WE> No but it wants to refuse education to children of illegal immigrants.
In Quebec, non-English-speaking immigrants are denied admittance to English
schools; sometimes, even English-speaking immigrants. Democracy?

Some prefer the term, "de-stinked"! :)

No, I don't "remember" it ... as it was 100 years before my time. :) But,
James Polk is not likely to see Manifest Destiny revisited anytime soon; I
doubt it's an option. However, if I turn out to be wrong, I'll be applying
for citizenship in New Zealand. :)

We have health-food stores ... no co-ops, though. Please, keep in mind that
what I describe applies to area (the Yukon, 60d+N lat); ... in the more
southern lats, the situation is more, than less, similar to the U.S. And we
can't really be compared to Alaska, either; our only coastline is the Arctic
coast and costs by air, truck are not inexpensive (ie, large concern). :)

Maybe ... in summer. :) In 1996, our winter started about mid-October and
we enjoyed -30 to -55 degree Celsius temperatures right into February. This
year, it never even dropped below -17 degree Celsius (ie, 0 Fahrenheit) 'til
yesterday ... -25 C all day. This morning, New Year's Day, it's -34 C, and
dropping, although we're told to expect it to warm up by the weekend ... and
that's tomorrow! :) It's exhilarating weather for cross-country skiing and
ski-dooing and winter camping, not to mention Gypsy music with Spanish Cof-
fee when you get back indoors. :)
