Thrill seekers, aka adrenaline junkies, will jump (no pun intended) from
one dangerous sport to another to quench their need for a thrill.

It isnt any different with POT, those with a need to get or be high, can
and will jump to or experiment with more potent means to get high.

In this context, POT is merely a stepping stone.

This is not to say that everyone, a term only you are interpreting from an
inference which isnt there, who smokes POT will or has jumped to more
powerful drugs, only that POT serves as a means to have openned the door.
