You've missed the big picture Alan... Joe Biden should have never had the documents at all, period.  He never had the authority to have them.

Trump on the other hand had the authority to have them, he could declassify at will any document he wanted... Period.

Other presidents, mostly all, have taken documents from the White House.  George W. Bush took documents home and he sent some back, years later, while keep others.
